Before you connect
- A HubSpot admin who may create service keys.
- An owner or admin account in Northdeck.
Connect HubSpot
- In Northdeck, open Data → Sources and choose HubSpot.
- In HubSpot, open Settings (the gear icon), then Integrations → Service Keys, and create a key named Northdeck.
- Give it read access to companies, contacts, deals and owners (crm.objects.companies.read, crm.objects.contacts.read, crm.objects.deals.read, crm.objects.owners.read), and nothing else.
- Copy the access token and paste it in Northdeck under HubSpot access token. An existing private app token with the same read access also works.
- Click Connect HubSpot. The first sync starts right away and adds a Sales module with pipeline, deals and win rate.
Someone else holds the access? In Data → Sources, click Send an invite link: they fill in the key without a Northdeck account. The link is valid for 7 days and works once.
Keeping it up to date
Every hour Northdeck reads what changed in HubSpot, and every night everything. Sync now reads everything at once.
Troubleshoot
The message in Northdeck says what went wrong. These are the most common ones.
HubSpot did not accept the access token.
The token was revoked, rotated or copied incompletely. Create a new one and connect again.
The HubSpot app is missing a permission.
The message lists the scopes it needs. Add those read scopes to the service key and connect again.
HubSpot asks us to slow down.
HubSpot limits the number of requests. Wait a minute and try again; the hourly sync catches up by itself.
Not everything was read.
A sync reads at most 20,000 records per object. The rows it did not reach stay as they were.
Good to know
- Contacts come in without e-mail addresses or phone numbers.
- Deal amounts use the amount in your HubSpot home currency when there is one.
- Disconnecting keeps the rows already imported until you replace or delete them.
